Rat King Throne

My process of the Rat King Diorama. Including tiled textures I created with ZBrush/Photoshop/Substance Painter. This exercise was a challenge at first because I have never tried my hand at a stylized/hand painted environment before. Inspired by World of Warcraft and Vermintide 2.

I started gray boxing the diorama and getting a feel for balance and proportions of assets. This took about a day to fill in the space with what I thought would fit in a throne room.

Next I created a couple tileable textures (bottom) to understand the process of using ZBrush to create a base to paint on.

The following couple of days was placing assets,modeling, and UVing. During this time, I was not quite happy with the throne itself because it reminded me of an electric chair. I took a break from the throne and dove into lighting and the colors I wanted.
